Toilets, they might not seem like that big of a deal (well, other than when nature calls), but take them away from people, and you not only take away a dignified place for them to defecate, you also leave them susceptible to deadly bacterial diseases. That’s why the Cleaner Toilets Brighter Future programme works with leading sanitation organizations to ensure schools and communities not only have safe, clean toilet facilities, but also the know-how to maintain those facilities for the long run.
Every Domestos builds toilets in local schools
Globally, one in three people don’t have access to a hygienic toilet. But every time you clean your toilet with Domestos, you’re helping the Cleaner Toilets Brighter Future Programme change this by bringing cleaner, safer toilets to 25 million people.
Waging a war against poor sanitation
Since 2012, we've brought hygienic facilities to 10 million people
More than just spreading dangerous diseases, poor sanitation can have long-lasting impacts on a child’s future. A missing toilet might not sound like much, but that lack of hygiene can greatly affect a student’s mood and motivation, leading to missed school days and prospects disappearing round the bend. In 2018 the Cleaner Toilets Brighter Future programme, working with UNICEF, local NGOs and government authorities, reached 160,000 South African school kids across 210 schools, providing new hygienic facilities and behaviour changing education that teaches the importance of hygiene.
By 2020: Help 25mill people gain access to cleaner/safer toilets
The war on poor sanitation isn’t going to be won overnight, but by choosing Domestos as your toilet germ-killing weapon of choice, you’re helping make the lives of millions of people across the world that little bit cleaner, safer and better.
