The team at SURF believe that if your clothes shine, you can shine confidently and that looking your best is an important part of making a great impression at job interviews. SURF wants all their fans to dazzle their way into a dream job that they can be proud of. That’s why SURF started their School of Shine Initiative.

The School of Shine website is a platform that helps young people build career confidence through free online courses and inspirational content. Whatever stage in your career you are in, SURF's School of Shine will support you with practical tools and tips to succeed in the workplace. Check out the School of Shine online (SURFshine.co.za) for courses on how to be interview ready, career planning, shining at the workplace as well as financial freedom and budgeting.

“With a staggering 27.2% unemployment rate in South Africa, SURF believes that we not only can, but should, help job seekers shine for interviews. Through our School of Shine initiatives and Shine With SURF roadshows we can support young people to prepare for their careers to enter the market with career confidence,” said Jeffrey Madkins Brand Manager of SURF washing powder at Unilever South Africa. “SURF keeps your clothes shining, so you can shine, so your future can shine bright,” completed Madkins.

To help them on their social mission, SURF has partnered with the Yes 4 Youth employment services for their knowledge on how to prepare for job interviews as well as with Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator for their expertise with finding youth employment opportunities. Harambee successfully placed 50,000 young people in jobs between 2011 and 2017 and are partnering with SURF to place more in 2018.
