Unilever wins top at the product of the year awards

For the sixth consecutive year, Unilever products have swept the board at the Product of the Year awards ceremony.

Unilever had 14 of its homecare, personal care and foods products selected as the best innovators in their categories by a sample of 5 000 independent consumers representing the South African grocery population.

"Unilever is very proud once again to have won in so many categories. It is great that the success of our product marketing and innovation is rewarded by consumers. In a year of heavy competition, to see brands like Omo, which turned 50 years old last year, still beating off other brands with innovation is particularly pleasing." said Justin Apsey, Vice President Homecare Unilever South Africa.

“With over 3100 innovation SKU’s being launched into the markets Unilever operates in, it shows the amount of new news consumers are having to deal with. With Unilever only representing 15% of this number, not only do we invest a significant amount of money in research and development to ensure their success, but we also invest in strong marketing plans to support our innovations in the marketplace.”
