At a media breakfast held this morning the Conscious Leadership Academy, in partnership with Unilever, and in a joint venture with Regenesys Business School is offering the very first Conscious Leadership MBA and a nine step conscious leadership programme. This provides a profound opportunity to change the course of business by changing the shape, character, and consciousness of an organisation and its leadership.
Prof Mervyn King, global guru of governance and ethics and Patron of the Academy, Chairman Michael Judin, Brenda Kali, CEO of Conscious Companies and founder of the Conscious Leadership Academy, as well as Marko Saravanja and Penny Law of Regenesys and Luc Olivier Marquet, CEO of Unilever South Africa are driven to create conscious leadership capacity in a country that desperately needs a shift in consciousness.
Prof Mervyn King, passionate about the impact companies can make in creating value in a sustainable manner states: “To have a conscious company requires conscious effective leadership. The partnership of the Conscious Leadership Academy and Regenesys Business School creates a synergy that would impact leadership and future leaders to create political, social and economic transformation, especially the millennials who no longer accept unethical, corrupt and inauthentic leadership”.
More than a century ago, the founders of Unilever, were people whose vision for the world was broader than their business. They were not just entrepreneurs but leaders with a conscious who used their brands to address the big social issues of their day. Luc-Olivier Marquet, the Executive Vice President of Unilever South Africa, stands firmly committed to carry that legacy forward, and to be the local ambassador for the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan (USLP) which was launched seven years by their global CEO, Paul Polman.
“Through the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan (USLP), we seek to improve our positive social impact and decouple our environmental footprint from our growth. The principles of the USLP are rooted in trust and transparency, and therefore requires ethical and conscious leadership” say Luc-Olivier.
Michael Judin non- executive Chairman of the Academy says: “As a corporate lawyer, my observation is that we lunge from one new crisis to another. We are delighted with our unique programme and the Conscious Leadership MBA that would create visible conscious leadership, highly productive teams, happy engaged employees and a harmony, balance, well-being and happiness even in the face of chaotic adversity.
Marko Saravanja, a former monk who understands all too well the critical factor of values-based leadership in business pointed out that: “In this era of malevolence where the devastation, injustice, corruption and poverty wrought by failed leaders demand that we do things differently - we need a dramatic shift from the dominant ethos of power, profiteering and unethical behaviour.
Regenesys’s joint venture with the Conscious Leadership Academy and the Conscious Leadership MBA will provide fertile ground to build conscious leaders that are emotionally and spiritually evolved to serve selflessly because they serve at the bidding of an inner sense of purpose.
Founder of the Academy Brenda Kali states that “Unless we put humanity at the core of our political, social and our economic systems, have the humility to take responsibility and the courage to admit that political, social and economic reform cannot happen without corrective and conscious behaviour only then can we turn our backs from the chaos and consequences that lie ahead. This ground-breaking announcement of the Conscious Leadership MBA is timeous to activate an inner call of tolerance, care, compassion and authenticity in the leadership of the day and we are in urgent need of such leaders”.
Registrations for February 2019 are open for the Conscious Leadership MBA and classes for the Conscious Leadership Programmes commence on October 1st 2018.
