Durban, 26 July 2019 – For decades, South Africa’s number one selling antiperspirant, Shield, has been intelligently designed to be activated by movement and provide the ultimate 48-hour protection. Shield’s passion for creating products that enable consumers to continue moving with confidence has presented many exciting innovations. The most recent being new Shield Even Tone, available in both the male and female ranges – goodbye dark marks, hello even tone.

Shield Even Tone is tailored to directly address one of the most common causes of discomfort: dark underarm marks. Through continuous use, this antiperspirant has been tried and tested to reduce the appearance of dark underarm marks in just 7-days while still providing 48 hours of protection. Not only is Shield Even Tone good for your skin, it’s good for the environment too. Shield Even Tone has been designed with sustainable environmental consideration in mind, and like all Shield roll-on packs, the new Even Tone variant is 100% recyclable, substantially reducing its negative impact on the environment.

“With 86% of South African women concerned about dark underarm marks, it brings us great pride to introduce this revolutionary offering to our consumers and provide them with clinically proven results within a short period of just 7-days. Further to this, we are able to address and be testament to one of Unilever’s fundamental purposes – sustainable development. By incorporating recyclable packaging, we can make a positive contribution to the people and planet we serve,” says Sphelele Mjadu, Senior PR Lead for Africa, Unilever Beauty and Personal Care.

With Unilever’s consistent dedication to identify key innovation trends that will enhance product technology, the Research and Development team has specially formulated this antiperspirant to address dark underarm marks in two ways. Firstly, through the Vitamin B3 Complex, which works with the skin to reduce the dark marks from deep within the skin. Secondly, Shield Even Tone contains moisturising ingredients such as sunflower seed oil and glycerin that moisturise and nourish the skin, reducing dark marks and uneven tone.

The Shield range includes a full spectrum of aerosols and roll-ons tailored to meet the various needs and preferences of consumers. The range is available at all major retailers:

  • Shield Even Tone roll-on (RSP R18,99)
  • Shield Even Tone aerosol (RSP R24,99)
