Mechell Chetty has 24 years of experience in the HR profession. She has led people and culture across the African continent as VP HR Africa for nine years. Mechell holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in psychology as well as a postgraduate in Business Management. She is passionate about the plight of our youth and removing barriers to their success. She is the founder of the Unilever LevelUp Youth programme aimed at providing free skills and access to leaders for mentoring. The skills include design thinking, purpose, and knowing your brand.
Mechell also sits on the Africa Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Board and has been instrumental in shaping Unilever’s EDI strategy and has contributed greatly to the global racial equity framework. She is an ally and advocate for equity in the workplace. She is also an avid cyclist and reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in 2011.
