Phahle Phalane

Head of Supply Chain - Southern Africa

Phahle is is a strong leader and a seasoned Supply Chain professional. He has a track record of leading significant manufacturing transformation with different companies within FMCG, including as a Supply Chain Executive at Tiger brands and Manufacturing Director at Nampak. Over the last two years, he has led the significant step up of manufacturing excellence in the Maydon Wharf sourcing unit, which has been a key enabler for the high growth trajectory of the Beauty & Wellbeing and Personal Care business in Southern Africa.

Since Joining Unilever as a management trainee in 1993, Phahle has occupied senior roles in most of the Unilever factories in South Africa, giving him extensive cross category experience.

Phahle is responsible for leading the SC strategy and operations across Southern Africa. In addition to operational responsibilities for Product supply, Manufacturing, SHE and Quality, Phahle as the Head of SC Southern Africa, he plays a key role in supporting the transition to iOps in South Africa.

Phahle studied at the University of Witwatersrand and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemical Engineering.
