Wellington Chimwaradze

Africa General Counsel

Wellington is a seasoned legal and business professional with over 20 years of experience in private law firm practice and in-house counsel roles. His expertise spans mobile communications, banking and financial services, and consumer goods industries, working with both local and international companies. Additionally, he has lectured at the University of Zimbabwe Law School for approximately eight years alongside his in-house roles.

Since joining Unilever in 2015, he has held various roles including General Counsel Central Africa, General Counsel Southern Africa and is currently the Unilever General Counsel for Africa (double hatting Southern Africa). In these roles, Wellington has led and developed high performing Legal teams, been a member of various business leadership teams and also delivered on strategic corporate transformations including disposals and RTM and business model transformation.

His purpose is to inspire and support others in reaching their full potential, benefiting themselves, their families, and their communities. He is dedicated to promoting a fair world that values diversity and inclusiveness, allowing everyone to be their best selves
